Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA and the California Delete Act · Last updated: 12 Aug. 2026
Findymail is a business-to-business contact search engine.
This page explains, in plain language, every privacy right California residents have over the personal information we hold, and exactly how to exercise each one. Every right listed below is free of charge, and we will never discriminate against you for using one. You do not need a Findymail account to make any request.
You can use whichever of these you prefer. They all carry the same weight, and each one can be used for any of the rights described further down this page.
California residents can also submit a single deletion request that reaches every registered data broker at once through the CPPA's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP). You can find it at privacy.ca.gov. We check DROP at least once every 45 days and process the requests we find there.
You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you and to stop collecting it again in the future.
How to exercise it: submit your email address or phone number through app.findymail.com/optout, email [email protected], or use DROP.
We remove the record from our search index and add the identifier to a suppression list so the same data is not re-collected from public sources later. We may retain a minimal record of the request itself, because the law requires us to be able to prove we honoured it.
If something we hold about you is wrong — a job title, an employer, an email address, a phone number — you can ask us to fix it.
How to exercise it: email [email protected] with the information that is incorrect and what it should say. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the accuracy of the correction you propose, and we may ask you for supporting documentation.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, along with the categories of information we collect, the sources we collected it from, our purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to. You can ask for this going back beyond the usual 12 months.
How to exercise it: email [email protected] and ask for a copy of your data. We reply with the information in a portable, readable format.
For reference, here is what we collect about business professionals:
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, health or biometric data, or the contents of your communications. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16.
You can ask us what personal information about you has been sold or shared, and the categories of third parties who received it.
How to exercise it: email [email protected] and ask for a disclosure of sales and sharing.
Under the CCPA's broad definition, our core service is a "sale" of personal information: our subscribers pay for access to professional contact details. The categories of recipients are:
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16.
You can tell us to stop selling or sharing your personal information. There is no cost, and we do not ask you to create an account, verify a payment method, or answer questions about why.
How to exercise it: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, or email [email protected].
In practice, an opt-out and a deletion request lead to the same outcome for our search index: your details stop being returned to our customers. If you want your data removed entirely rather than only excluded from sale, use the deletion right in section 1.
California residents can direct businesses to limit the use of their sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service.
How to exercise it: email [email protected] with a request to limit the use of your sensitive personal information.
We want to be straightforward about this: Findymail does not collect sensitive personal information as the CCPA defines it, and we never use or disclose it to infer characteristics about you. There is therefore nothing for this right to limit in our case. We honour the request anyway, and if that ever changes, this page and our opt-out form will change with it.
You can appoint someone to make a request on your behalf. Send us written permission signed by you, along with the request, to [email protected]. We may contact you directly to confirm that you authorized the agent, unless the agent provides a valid power of attorney.
We ask for the least information needed to match you to a record — usually just the email address or phone number in question — and we use anything you send us for verification only, then delete it. We will never ask you for a payment method, a government ID, or an account signup in order to process a privacy request.
We follow the timelines set by the CCPA regulations. We confirm receipt of a request to delete, correct, or know within 10 business days, and respond within 45 calendar days. Where a request is genuinely complex we may take up to 45 additional days, for a maximum of 90, and we will tell you before we do. Opt-out requests are actioned as soon as feasible and no later than 15 business days. Requests submitted through DROP are processed on the CPPA's schedule, at least every 45 days.
If we cannot honour a request, we will tell you which right we are declining and why.
Exercising any of these rights costs nothing and changes nothing about the service or pricing you receive from us. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for your personal information.
Write to us first at [email protected] and we will review the decision. You can also complain to the California Privacy Protection Agency or the California Attorney General.
